How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    This newly created role reflects Yeovil College’s continued commitment to innovation, curriculum growth, and the use of the latest technologies. You will lead and deliver high-quality teaching and assessment for Aeronautical Engineering, covering both theoretical and practical principles for aircraft systems, structures, maintenance practices, engineering principles and industry standards. Working closely with employers, apprentices and full-time learners, you will develop technical capability, professional behaviours and workplace confidence while supporting innovative approaches to aerospace skills delivery. Knowledge of emerging technologies is welcomed, as Yeovil College continues to expand into this exciting and rapidly evolving area.     What we're looking for:

    * Knowledge of aeronautical or aerospace engineering, with at least 2 years technical experience.

    * A level 4 qualification in Aeronautical, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.

    * A teaching qualification or willingness to work towards

    * A passion for supporting students to learn and develop new skills.

    * The ability to work successfully within a team.

    * Proactive in initiating, developing and implement new ideas and developments.

    * Excellent communication and organisational skills.

    * Annual Salary: £39,917 up to £45,539 depending on experience
