How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    EXPERIENCED MET TECHNICIAN - MECHANICAL EXPERIENCE
    Location: Norwich
    Salary: Up to £50,000 Depending on Experience
    Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
    Hours: Monday - Friday - 08:30 - 17:00

    THE ROLE
    As an Experienced MET Technician with Mechanical Experience, you will be responsible for the removal, refitting and repair of mechanical, electrical and trim components on accident-damaged vehicles.

    Your broader mechanical knowledge will be particularly valuable, allowing you to confidently diagnose and work on vehicle systems beyond traditional MET duties while working closely with Panel Technicians, Paint Technicians, VDAs and the wider bodyshop team.

    Key Responsibilities:
    ·Strip and refit mechanical, electrical and trim components from accident-damaged vehicles
    ·Carry out mechanical repairs and component replacement where required
    ·Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment
    ·Remove and refit suspension, steering, braking and other vehicle systems
    ·Carry out accurate checks and ensure vehicles are safe and correctly reassembled
    ·Work closely with Panel, Paint, VDA and Workshop teams to maintain efficient vehicle throughput
    ·Follow manufacturer repair methods, technical procedures and Health & Safety requirements
    ·Complete repairs to a consistently high standard while maintaining agreed production times

    ABOUT YOU
    We're looking for an experienced and technically capable MET Technician with a strong mechanical background who takes pride in producing high-quality work and enjoys working across a broad range of vehicle systems.

    ·Proven experience as an MET Technician within an automotive accident repair bodyshop
    ·Strong mechanical experience alongside MET / strip and refit skills
    ·Confident removing and refitting mechanical, electrical and trim components
    ·Good knowledge of suspension, steering, braking and associated vehicle systems
    ·Experience diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
    ·Confident using diagnostic equipment and technical information
    ·Understanding of modern vehicle construction and repair methods
    ·Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality
    ·Ability to work efficiently within a busy accident repair environment
    ·Strong team player with a professional and positive attitude
    ·IMI / ATA qualifications advantageous
    ·Full UK Driving Licence preferred
