How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Systems Engineering Consultant
Bristol (Hybrid, 3 days per week)
    £50,000 - £60,000 + Bonus + Private Healthcare + Life Insurance + Hybrid Working + Progression + Training

Are you a Systems Engineer with industry experience looking to accelerate your development, gain exposure to a wider variety of complex engineering projects, and join a specialist consultancy where you'll work directly with leading Defence, Nuclear and Space organisations while receiving structured support and clear progression opportunities?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing Systems Engineering consultancy that delivers projects across Defence, Nuclear, Space and Utilities. Working alongside experienced consultants, you will support clients through a range of activities including concept development, systems architecture, requirements management, integration and verification.

The role is ideally suited to someone who has completed a graduate scheme or gained early career experience within a major engineering organisation and is looking for broader exposure, greater responsibility and faster professional development. You'll have the opportunity to work across multiple projects and industries rather than being confined to a single programme.

You'll join a highly collaborative business that invests heavily in training, knowledge sharing and career progression. With increasing demand from Defence and Nuclear clients, this is a fantastic opportunity to build long-term consultancy skills while working on technically challenging and rewarding projects.

    The Role:
*Support systems engineering activities across the project lifecycle
*Contribute to concept studies, architecture development and technical analysis
*Develop and manage system requirements and supporting documentation
*Engage with clients and stakeholders across Defence, Nuclear and Space programmes
*Support verification, validation and systems integration activities

    The Person:
*2+ years' industry experience within Systems Engineering
*Background in Defence, Nuclear, Aerospace, Security or another complex engineering environment
*Understanding of systems engineering principles and lifecycle activities
*Strong communication skills and an interest in developing consultancy skills
*Must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC)

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd acts an employment agency for permanent roles and an employment business for temporary roles.

The salary advertised is the bracket available for this position. The actual salary paid will be dependent on your level of experience, qualifications and skill set and will be decided by our client, the employer. Rise are not responsible or liable for any hiring decisions made by the end client.

We are an equal opportunities company and welcome applications from all suitable candidates
