How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Location: Snodland / South East England
    Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 + Package
    Employment Type: Permanent
Sector: Water, Wastewater, Process Engineering & MEICA

Gearing Recruitment Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join an established process engineering contractor, delivering projects across the South East water sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with a background in water, wastewater, process engineering or MEICA to take responsibility for the successful delivery of capital projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.

You’ll work across a varied portfolio of process-led schemes, coordinating design, engineering, commercial, construction, commissioning and supply chain teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards.

    The Role

As Project Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the delivery of allocated water and wastewater projects, managing programme, cost, quality, risk, health and safety and client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

You’ll be working closely with internal teams, site personnel, designers, subcontractors and client stakeholders, ensuring that technical, commercial and operational interfaces are effectively managed.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Manage the delivery of water, wastewater and process/MEICA projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.

    * Take ownership of programme, budget, quality, health & safety, risk and client communication across allocated projects.

    * Coordinate MEICA, process, civil, commissioning and supply chain interfaces to ensure projects remain on track.

    * Work closely with design, commercial, planning and construction teams to manage procurement, change, risk and project reporting.

    * Manage subcontractors, suppliers, site teams and engineering resources to ensure successful project delivery.

    * Build and maintain strong relationships with client-side project, engineering and operational stakeholders.

    * Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with CDM, RAMS, permits, quality requirements and company/project governance.

    * Support commercial teams with the management of variations, change, risk and contractual matters.

    About You

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager who can demonstrate:

    * Proven experience delivering projects within water, wastewater, utilities, process engineering or a similar environment.

    * A strong understanding of MEICA and the ability to manage interfaces between mechanical, electrical, ICA, process and civil disciplines.

    * Experience delivering capital projects such as water/wastewater treatment works, pumping stations, process upgrades or similar infrastructure schemes.

    * Good knowledge of NEC contracts, with the ability to work effectively alongside commercial teams.

    * Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, suppliers and client stakeholders.

    * Strong project management, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

    * SMSTS, CSCS and a relevant engineering/construction qualification would be advantageous.

    * A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South East.

    What's on Offer?

    * £65,000 – £75,000 salary + package

    * Permanent position with an established water/process engineering contractor

    * Long-term work secured through a strong water-sector project pipeline

    * Opportunity to deliver technically varied process and MEICA projects

    * Excellent exposure to major water infrastructure programmes

    * Career progression within an experienced and growing delivery team

If you’re an experienced Project Manager with water, wastewater, process or MEICA experience and are looking for a long-term opportunity within the South East water sector, we’d be keen to hear from you.
