How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Are you a commercially driven sales professional with a genuine hunter mentality? Do you thrive on getting out into the field, opening doors, starting conversations and turning cold prospects into long-term customers?

If you're at your best when you're face-to-face with customers, building relationships and winning new business, this could be the opportunity for you.

I'm recruiting for an ambitious and energetic Area Sales Manager to drive growth across an exciting territory. This is not a desk-based account management role. You'll be highly visible in your market, spending the majority of your week on the road, creating opportunities, winning new customers and growing existing accounts.

    The Role

As the Area Sales Manager, you'll take ownership of your territory and play a key role in driving new business and sustainable sales growth. You'll typically spend three to four days per week in the field, visiting prospective and existing customers across the foodservice sector. You'll be confident walking into businesses, introducing yourself to key decision-makers and turning conversations into commercial opportunities.

While winning new business will be a major focus, you'll also work closely with our established customers to identify untapped potential, increase customer value, grow product range and strengthen long-term relationships.

This is a role for someone who enjoys creating opportunities from scratch and isn't reliant on inbound leads or simply managing an existing account list.

    About You

    You'll ideally have:

A proven track record in field sales, territory management or business development.
Strong experience selling into the foodservice sector.
A genuine hunter mentality and confidence approaching cold prospects.
Excellent prospecting, door-opening and relationship-building skills.
The resilience and motivation to overcome rejection and maintain momentum.
A strong commercial mindset, with the ability to grow existing customers as well as win new ones.
Excellent territory planning, organisation and time-management skills.
A results-focused approach and clear ownership of your targets and performance.
The ability to work independently while contributing positively to the wider team.
A full UK driving licence. What's in it for you?

£35,000-£40,000 per annum, depending on experience
Performance-related bonus based on achieving KPIs and sales targets
25 days' annual leave, plus bank holidays
    Travel allowance
    Company pension
Private medical cover following successful completion of probation
Generous staff discount across our product rangeIf you're a proactive, ambitious salesperson who loves the thrill of winning new business and wants the opportunity to take ownership of a territory, build strong customer relationships and make a genuine commercial impact, we'd love to hear from you.
