How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

EmpowerED is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant in Bracknell to join a fantastic specialist SEND school supporting children and young people with severe and profound learning difficulties and complex additional needs.

This Teaching Assistant role in Bracknell is a brilliant opportunity for someone who wants a genuinely varied and rewarding role where you'll help young people develop their communication, confidence, independence and essential life skills.

    The Teaching Assistant role

As a Teaching Assistant in Bracknell, you'll work as part of an experienced specialist classroom team, supporting pupils throughout their school day.

This isn't simply a classroom-based role. Learning is highly personalised and could see you supporting everything from sensory activities and communication to PE, life skills and accessing the wider community.

    Your day could include:

    * Supporting pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties

    * Providing 1:1 and small-group support

    * Helping pupils access sensory circuits and sensory-based learning

    * Supporting communication and interaction

    * Encouraging independence and essential life skills

    * Supporting pupils with emotional and sensory regulation

    * Helping pupils access PE and physical activities

    * Supporting personal care where required

    * Accompanying pupils on community activities, trips and off-site learning

    * Using positive behaviour approaches to support pupils when they become dysregulated

    * Working closely with teachers, therapists and other specialist professionals

A school where independence really matters

This Teaching Assistant vacancy in Bracknell is within a specialist environment where education is about much more than academic progress.

The school's personalised curriculum places pupils' EHCP outcomes at its centre and focuses on communication, academics, life skills, employability, nurture, therapies and social development.

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play an important part in helping pupils make progress in the areas that matter most to their individual lives.

    Who are we looking for?

For this Teaching Assistant role in Bracknell, we're looking for someone who is caring, engaging, patient, resilient and positive.

Previous specialist school experience would be fantastic, but we're also interested in people with transferable experience from areas such as:

SEND | Care | Learning Disabilities | Autism Support | PMLD | Support Work | Early Years | Youth Work | Mental Health | Residential Care

You'll need to be comfortable working in a hands-on environment and understand that pupils may require support with communication, behaviour, physical needs and personal care.

Most importantly, you'll need to genuinely enjoy working with children and young people and be able to celebrate progress in all its forms.

Why consider this Teaching Assistant opportunity?

Working as a Teaching Assistant at this specialist school in Bracknell will give you fantastic hands-on experience within SEND.

You'll be supporting pupils through a personalised curriculum designed to help them become as independent as possible, while developing your own experience across complex needs, communication, sensory regulation, behaviour and life-skills education.

It's an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a longer-term career within SEND, specialist teaching, therapy, psychology, nursing, social care or education.

Looking for a Teaching Assistant job in Bracknell?

If you're already working as a SEND Teaching Assistant in Bracknell and looking for your next opportunity, we'd love to speak to you.

Equally, if you're currently working within care, support work or another people-focused role and would like to explore becoming a Teaching Assistant in Bracknell, we'd really like to hear from you.
