How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    MEP Quantity Surveyor - London

A progressive London cost consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their specialist building services capability. Working across major residential, mixed-use, commercial and living-led developments, this is an excellent opportunity for an MEP Quantity Surveyor to become involved in complex, design-led projects across the capital.

The successful MEP Quantity Surveyor will provide dedicated mechanical and electrical cost advice throughout the development lifecycle, working from early feasibility and design development through procurement, construction and final account. The MEP Quantity Surveyor will work closely with developers, architects, engineers and contractors, helping clients understand building services costs and make informed commercial decisions.

This role would suit an MEP Quantity Surveyor who enjoys technically challenging projects and wants greater exposure to major London developments. The consultancy places strong emphasis on intelligent cost management, collaboration and early-stage commercial advice, giving the MEP Quantity Surveyor the opportunity to influence design and procurement rather than simply report on costs once projects are underway.

MEP Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities:

Preparing mechanical and electrical cost plans, estimates and benchmarking

Reviewing MEP designs and advising on cost implications

Supporting procurement strategies for building services packages

Preparing tender documentation and analysing contractor returns

Managing valuations, variations and change control

Producing detailed MEP cost reports and forecasts

    Negotiating specialist contractor accounts

Working with clients and design teams to identify value and manage risk

MEP Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements:

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Building Services or a related discipline

Strong UK MEP Quantity Surveying or building services commercial experience

Experience within a PQS consultancy or specialist M&E environment

MRICS, working towards MRICS, or another relevant professional qualification such as MCIOB desirable

Good knowledge of MEP procurement and construction processes

Experience on residential, mixed-use, commercial or large-scale development projects advantageous

Strong numerical, reporting and client-facing skills

    In Return:

    £55,000 - £65,000 per annum

    London-based role

    Exposure to major development-led projects

Strong MEP specialism within an established cost consultancy

    Continued professional development and progression

If you are an MEP Quantity Surveyor considering your career opportunities, then please contact Dan McEvoy at Brandon James.
