How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An excellent opportunity for a Machine Shop Manager looking to join a rapidly expanding business that can offer extensive responsibility, career progression and the opportunity to lead a skilled team.

    Are you an experienced machinist with strong manual machining experience? Would you like to play a key role at a thriving business?

    This well-established company is a specialist manufacturer of mechanical equipment, supplying to clients UK wide. They have gone from strength to strength in recent years with a number of acquisitions. Due to ongoing success and expansion, they are now looking for a Machine Shop Manager to join their expert team.

    In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the machine shop, managing a team of machinists and ensuring production targets, quality standards and deadlines are met. You will also use your strong technical knowledge of manual machining to support the team and ensure efficient workshop operations.

    This role would therefore suit an experienced manual machinist looking for a new challenge and the chance to progress their career within a rapidly expanding business.

    The Role:

    Manage the day-to-day running of the machine shop
    Lead and support a team of machinists
    Oversee manual machining and production
    Ensure quality, efficiency and production targets are met
