How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Reed Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Automotive/Agricultural company

    We are looking for an Agricultural Service Technician to join a successful and growing machinery business. This is an excellent opportunity to work with industry-leading equipment, receive specialist manufacturer training, and build a long-term career within the agricultural sector.

    This role combines workshop-based servicing with field service work, supporting customers across the local area. You'll be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and ensuring machinery remains operational during critical farming periods.

    What You'll Be Doing

    Servicing, maintaining, and repairing agricultural machinery and equipment.
    Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults.
    Attending customer sites and farms to carry out repairs and breakdown support.
    Completing machine inspections and preventative maintenance work.
    Preparing new and used machinery for delivery.
    Providing technical advice and support to customers.
    Completing service documentation and job reports accurately and on time.
    Working safely and following all company health and safety procedures.
    Participating in ongoing manufacturer and technical training programmes.What We're Looking For

    Previous experience within agricultural machinery, plant equipment, HGV, commercial vehicles, construction equipment, automotive, or similar engineering environments.
    Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
    Good understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
    Ability to work independently and manage customer-facing responsibilities.
    Professional, positive, and customer-focused attitude.
    Full UK driving licence.
    Agricultural machinery experience is advantageous, but full product training will be provided for the right candidate.Working Hours

    Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
