How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Document Controller – Data Centre Scheme

    Location: Blyth, Northumberland

    Duration: Long-term project

    Employment: Freelance or Permanent

    Start: Immediate / ASAP

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Document Controller to join a major data centre scheme in Blyth.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project documentation and ensuring all information is accurately recorded, distributed and maintained throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with the project and commercial teams, subcontractors and wider site personnel to ensure document control processes are followed effectively.

    Key Responsibilities

    Managing and maintaining all project documentation and records.

    Controlling the issue, receipt and revision of drawings, specifications and technical documents.

    Ensuring documents are correctly filed, version controlled and readily accessible.

    Uploading and distributing documentation through the relevant document management systems.

    Maintaining document registers and tracking outstanding information.

    Coordinating document submissions and approvals between project teams and subcontractors.

    Assisting with the preparation and distribution of project reports and documentation.

    Ensuring project information is managed in accordance with company procedures.

    Liaising with site and office-based teams to resolve document control queries.

    Supporting the wider project team with general administrative duties where required.

    Requirements

    Previous experience working as a Document Controller, ideally within construction or engineering.

    Experience working on large-scale construction projects; data centre experience would be advantageous.

    Strong understanding of document control procedures and revision management.

    Experience using document management systems such as Viewpoint, Aconex, Procore, Asite or similar.

    Excellent organisational and communication skills.

    Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage a high volume of information.

    Proficient IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office.

    Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced project environment
