How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    CNC Turner Programmer/Setter

    Precision Engineering | Norwich, Norfolk | Full Time | Permanent

    Are you an experienced CNC Turner looking for your next challenge within a modern and growing precision engineering business?

    We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering company that specialises in a wide range of CNC turning and milling technologies. Their advanced manufacturing facility includes multi axis turning centres, mill turn machines, twin spindle technology, sliding head lathes, and an extensive range of CNC milling equipment ranging from conventional vertical machining centres through to highly advanced machining solutions.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC professional who enjoys working as part of a close-knit team and wants to continue developing their career within a forward thinking business.

    As a CNC Turner Programmer/Setter, your key responsibilities include:

    Programming and setting CNC lathes using ISO/Fanuc based controls.
    Producing high-quality precision machined components.
    Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
    Making tooling and offset adjustments as required.
    Ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout production.
    Supporting continuous improvement activities.
    Working closely with colleagues across the machining team.
    What They're Looking For:

    Proven experience programming and setting CNC lathes.
    A minimum of 5+ years of high-level CNC turning experience.
    Strong knowledge of ISO/Fanuc based controls.
    Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances.
    Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
    A positive team player who enjoys working collaboratively.
    Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
    Hours - 37.5 hours per week

    Monday to Thursday: 8:00am to 4:30pm.
    Friday: 8:00am to 1:30pm.Enjoy an early finish every Friday and a great work life balance!
