How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Liaising with clients, designers, and internal teams to understand project requirements.
Obtaining quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
Ensuring compliance with health & safety legislation and company policies.
Supporting contract handovers and maintaining quality control throughout the estimating process.
Promoting positive client relationships and representing the company professionally.
    What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you must have:

Ability to estimate from first principles
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Sound numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
    Full UK driving licence.
    What you'll get in return
    In return, you will receive:

Starting salary from £50,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience)
Company vehicle or car allowance (up to £6,600 per annum)
34 days' annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays)
Company pension scheme (matched up to 5%)
    Flexible working hours
    Profit share scheme
    Private health insurance
Reimbursed professional fee to a recognised body (e.g. RICS, ICE or similar)
    Continuous training and development
Clear pathways for professional development and career progression
Exposure to high-profile and rewarding projects
    Supportive and collaborative work environment
Opportunity to grow and progress your career with an employee-first and privately-owned principal contractor and more.
