How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Maintenance Engineer

    East Suffolk

    Permanent, Full-Time

Salary up to £55,000 dependent on experience

    Monday to Friday: 6am - 2pm & 2pm - 10pm

Keep it running. Make it better. Own it.

Are you a hands-on Maintenance Engineer who wants to do more than fix breakdowns?

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to take real ownership of engineering standards, equipment reliability and continuous improvement within a growing, highly regulated manufacturing environment.

This is a visible, hands-on role where you will work closely with Production, leading from the front, setting high standards and bringing people with you.

You will not just identify what needs to improve. You will educate, coach and nurture those around you, helping operators understand equipment, take greater ownership and build better ways of working.

    What you will be doing

    * Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control-system breakdowns.

    * Own and improve the planned preventative maintenance programme.

    * Investigate recurring failures and deliver sustainable root-cause solutions.

    * Work with Production to improve OEE, uptime, efficiency, waste and equipment performance.

    * Maintain and improve machinery, tooling and production equipment.

    * Use maintenance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.

    * Support equipment installations, commissioning and engineering projects.

    * Provide engineering support across site utilities and production-critical services.

    * Coordinate specialist contractors and external engineering partners.

    * Maintain accurate maintenance records, documentation and engineering standards.

    * Work closely with Quality and EHS to maintain high safety, quality and regulatory standards.

    * Coach and educate operators in equipment care, basic fault-finding and preventative maintenance.

    What we are looking for

You will be a qualified or time served Maintenance Engineer with an Electrical / Electronic predominant bias.

    You will have:

    * Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.

    * Experience across PPM, breakdown response and root-cause analysis.

    * The ability to read electrical, pneumatic and mechanical drawings.

    * Experience with machinery, motors, sensors, drives, pneumatics and controls.

    * A good understanding of safe isolation and machinery safety.

    * Experience using a CMMS or maintenance management system.

    * A practical, data-driven approach to continuous improvement.

    * The communication skills and confidence to influence, educate and work effectively with people at all levels.

    * Experience within a regulated or high-volume manufacturing environment would be advantageous, as would exposure to PLCs, automation or Lean/continuous improvement.

    The person

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, curious and driven to improve things.

You will take genuine ownership, remain calm under pressure and look beyond the immediate fix to find the right long-term solution.

You will be someone who leads by example, sets high standards and earns the respect of those around you. You will know how to challenge constructively, communicate clearly and bring people with you when making improvements.

This is an opportunity to improve reliability, raise standards and develop people, while playing a key role in the continued growth of the site.

If you want your engineering expertise to make a visible difference — to both equipment and people — we would love to hear from you
