How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: North of Wolverhampton (Office-Based)
    Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

    My client is a leading provider of fleet management and vehicle safety solutions, specialising in the supply and installation of advanced technologies including multi-camera systems, Direct Vision Standard (DVS) solutions, driver monitoring systems (DMS), telematics, and connected vehicle technologies. As the business continues to grow, my client is looking to expand their team and are seeking an experienced Product Engineer to play a key role in shaping the future of our product portfolio.

    Product Engineer Role

    This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded and innovative Product Engineer with direct industry experience. You will be responsible for researching, developing, improving, and managing products across their fleet safety and vehicle technology range, ensuring the solutions remain at the forefront of the industry.

    Working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and customers, you will identify opportunities for innovation, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support the development of new technologies and product enhancements.

    Product Engineer Key Responsibilities

    * Lead research and development activities for new and existing fleet management and vehicle safety products.

    * Drive product innovation and technology development across multi-camera systems, DVS solutions, driver monitoring systems, and associated technologies.

    * Evaluate and test new products, components, and emerging technologies.

    * Manage product redevelopment and continuous improvement projects.

    * Conduct technical assessments, product validation, and performance testing.

    * Work with suppliers and manufacturers to identify and develop new product opportunities.

    * Produce and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and product information.

    * Provide technical expertise and support to internal departments including sales, installation, and operations.

    * Monitor industry trends, legislation, and market developments to ensure products remain compliant and competitive.

    About You

    To be successful in this role, you must have previous experience within the fleet management, vehicle safety, telematics, or transport technology sector and have worked directly with products such as:

    * Multi-camera vehicle systems

    * Direct Vision Standard (DVS) solutions

    * Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS)

    * Fleet safety technology

    * Telematics and connected vehicle solutions

    Essential Requirements

    * Previous experience in a Product Engineer, Product Development Engineer, Technical Engineer, R&D Engineer, or similar role.

    * Strong knowledge of fleet management and vehicle safety products.

    * Experience with product development, testing, validation, and continuous improvement methodologies.

    * Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

    * Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and technical software applications.

    * Ability to interpret technical specifications and documentation.

    * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

    * Self-motivated with a proactive and innovative approach.

    Desirable

    * Experience working with vehicle electrical systems, CAN Bus, telematics, or connected vehicle technologies.

    * Understanding of fleet compliance and safety legislation, including DVS requirements.

    * Project management experience.
