How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Digital Print Artworker / Mac Operator

    Leyland, Lancashire
    Up to £29,500 DOE
    Full-time, site-based

    - Do you have experience preparing artwork, graphics or logos for print?

    - Maybe you have worked as a Mac Operator, Junior Artworker, Pre-Press Operator, Signage Artworker or within a digital print environment?

    - Are you looking for a role where you can build your experience and be trained in a specialist manufacturing environment?

    We are recruiting for a Digital Print Artworker / Mac Operator to join an established luxury wallcovering manufacturer based in Leyland.

    This is a practical production-focused role sitting between the artwork studio and the digital print team.

    You will receive artwork, logos and graphics supplied by customers, check that the files are suitable for production, make any necessary adjustments and then prepare and send the artwork through to the digital printing machinery.

    This is not a highly creative graphic design role where you will be developing brands or marketing campaigns from scratch.

    Instead, it is about taking existing artwork and making sure it is technically correct, accurate and ready to print.

    You do not need to have worked within wallpaper or textiles before, and you do not necessarily need years of experience. We are very open to people who have some relevant print or artwork knowledge and are keen to learn.

    The Role

    Your responsibilities will include:

    * Receiving customer-supplied artwork, logos and graphics

    * Checking files before they go into production

    * Adjusting sizing, resolution, positioning and layout

    * Cleaning up or amending artwork where required

    * Checking bleed, scale and file formats

    * Preparing artwork using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and specialist production software

    * Sending approved files through to digital printers

    * Checking that the finished print matches the approved artwork

    * Identifying artwork or print-quality issues

    * Making adjustments where necessary

    * Working closely with the studio and production teams

    * Supporting the operation of digital printing equipment

    * Learning the company’s specialist artwork and production processes

    What We Are Looking For

    You might currently be working as a:

    * Mac Operator

    * Junior Artworker

    * Digital Print Artworker

    * Pre-Press Operator

    * Reprographics Operator

    * Signage Artworker

    * Large Format Artworker

    * Digital Print Operator

    * Graphics Production Operative

    Experience within signage, reprographics, commercial print, packaging or large-format printing could all be relevant.

    You will ideally have:

    * Some experience preparing artwork for print

    * Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop skills

    * An understanding of sizing, resolution, bleed and file formats

    * Good attention to detail

    * The ability to spot problems within artwork

    * A practical and methodical approach

    * The confidence to learn new software and production processes

    * An interest in developing within a specialist print environment

    Experience using RIP software, AVA or other print-production systems would be useful, but it is not essential, as training can be provided.

    Previous wallpaper or textile experience is also not required.

    More important is that you have some understanding of artwork preparation, enjoy accurate and detailed work and are happy working within a production environment.

    This is a great opportunity for somebody looking to develop their print and artwork experience within an established specialist manufacturer
