How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Site Engineer

    An exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced Site Engineer to join a leading contractor on a major steel frame industrial warehouse project in Basingstoke. This Site Engineer role offers a long-term freelance contract, providing the opportunity to work on a large-scale industrial development and play a key role in the successful delivery of the project.

    About the Role of Site Engineer

    As Site Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the construction team throughout the delivery of a steel frame warehouse scheme. Working closely with the Project Manager, Site Managers, and subcontractors, you will ensure all setting out, surveying, and engineering duties are completed accurately and in line with programme requirements.

    This role is ideal for an engineer with experience on industrial, logistics, distribution, or steel frame construction projects who is looking to work on a significant development with a well-established contractor.

    Responsibilities for Site Engineer

    Carrying out all setting out duties across the warehouse development
    * Managing QA processes and maintaining accurate site records
    * Producing and completing as-built surveys and site documentation
    * Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings and specifications
    * Coordinating subcontractors and resolving technical issues on site
    * Conducting site inspections and assisting with quality control procedures
    * Supporting the management team with programme and progress tracking
    * Maintaining health & safety standards across all engineering activitiesRequirements for Site Engineer

    Previous experience as a Site Engineer on industrial, logistics, or warehouse projects
    * Strong experience working on steel frame construction projects
    * Proficient with surveying equipment including GPS and Total Station
    * Experience managing QA documentation and as-built records
    * CSCS Card required
    * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
