How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About You

    The ideal candidate will be an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in commercial building services, facilities management or a similar environment.

    You should be technically competent, proactive and confident working independently as well as part of a wider engineering team.

    Essential Requirements

    * Recognised electrical qualification, such as City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

    * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

    * Previous experience within commercial building services or facilities maintenance.

    * Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

    * Ability to work effectively on a 7am–7pm / 7pm–7am continental shift pattern.

    * Strong understanding of health & safety requirements.

    * Good communication and organisational skills.

    Desirable

    * Experience within a high-profile commercial or critical environment.

    * Additional electrical testing & inspection qualifications.

    * Experience with LV electrical systems, generators, UPS systems, BMS or associated building services.

    * Experience working within a facilities management environment.

    What's on Offer?

    * Salary up to £54,000

    * Continental 7–7 days & nights shift pattern

    * 20 days' shift holiday

    * Overtime available

    * Private pension

    * Excellent company benefits

    * Full training and development opportunities

    * Clear progression pathway to Senior Engineer and senior-level roles

    * Long-term career stability with a respected employer

    * Excellent City of London working environment
