How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Maintenance Engineer

    Location: Grimsby, DN31
    Salary: £44,340 starting salary + monthly incentive scheme + 8-week closure incentive
    Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:10
    Contract: Full-time, Permanent

    Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking for a secure, long-term opportunity with a well-established manufacturing business?

    We are currently recruiting for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join an established engineering team at a major manufacturing site in the Grimsby area.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to work Monday to Friday, days-based hours, while benefiting from a strong salary package, incentive schemes and enhanced overtime rates.

    The Package

    £44,340 starting salary
    Monthly incentive scheme
    8-week closure incentive
    Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:10
    Overtime paid at 1.5x Monday - Saturday
    Overtime paid at 2x on Sundays
    Employer pension contribution of up to 12%
    Full-time, permanent position

    The Role

    As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the ongoing reliability and performance of site machinery and production equipment.

    Working as part of the engineering team, your responsibilities will include:

    Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the site
    Diagnosing and rectifying electrical and/or mechanical faults
    Responding effectively to equipment breakdowns
    Supporting preventative maintenance programmes
    Identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability
    Ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently
    Working closely with production and other departments to minimise downtime
    Maintaining accurate maintenance records
    Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site

    About You

    The ideal candidate will have:

    Previous experience in a maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing environment
    Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
    A recognised engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent
    Good electrical and/or mechanical maintenance experience
    The ability to work independently as well as part of an engineering team
    A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement
    Strong health & safety awareness
