How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

People Advisor – Cultural Arts Organisation

Central London | 3 days onsite / 2 days WFH

    £40K + great benefits | 18-month FTC

We’re working with a well-known organisation within the UK’s cultural arts sector who are looking for a People Advisor to join their team on an 18-month FTC. This is a great opportunity for an HR Advisor who genuinely enjoys ER, is confident handling difficult conversations and wants to be the person managers turn to when they need practical HR advice. You’ll be hands-on, trusted and highly visible across the organisation, helping managers navigate complex people issues, supporting investigations and restructures, and giving them the confidence to handle challenging situations themselves.

    What you’ll be doing:

You’ll be the go-to HR point of contact for managers, providing practical advice and coaching across a broad range of employee relations and people matters.

    The role will include:

    • Managing and advising on ER cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance and absence
    • Supporting managers with investigations, including helping them plan, prepare and confidently navigate the process
    • Coaching managers through difficult and sensitive conversations
    • Acting as a trusted point of contact for managers, providing clear advice on HR policies, processes and employment law
    • Upskilling and coaching managers so they become more confident managing people issues independently
    • Supporting managers through restructures, consultations and redundancy processes – previous experience essential
    • Advising on family leave, including maternity, paternity and shared parental leave
    • Identifying recurring people issues and using HR data and trends to improve manager capability and employee experience
    • Building strong relationships with managers and stakeholders across a varied and interesting organisation

    What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone who is confident, pragmatic and able to keep the pace. You’ll be someone managers can rely on for sensible, practical advice and you will have a chance to make real impact.

    • Solid Advisory experience
    • Previous employee relations experience
    • Confidence supporting investigations, disciplinaries, grievances and performance issues
    • Experience coaching managers through difficult conversations
    • Proven experience supporting restructures, consultations and redundancies
    • Good knowledge of UK employment law
    • A natural ability to build relationships and influence and upskill managers
    • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience
    • Experience working in a unionised environment would be a bonus

If you’re an HR Advisor who loves the people side of HR, is confident dealing with difficult situations and wants to be a genuine partner to managers, this could be a great opportunity for you.
