How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A globally recognised architecture and design practice is looking for an Airport Planner to join its growing London Aviation team. You would be joining an established international practice with an extensive portfolio of major airport and passenger terminal projects around the world. Working alongside experienced aviation architects, planners and designers, you would contribute to the planning and design of complex airport environments, developing solutions that balance passenger experience, operational requirements and efficient terminal design. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2–4 years' relevant experience who wants to specialise further within aviation and build their career within a highly regarded global airport design team.

    Job Description

    • Support the planning and design of major airport and passenger terminal projects in the UK and internationally
    • Develop terminal layouts and spatial planning solutions within Revit
    • Assist with airport planning studies across different stages of design
    • Consider passenger journeys, flows and operational requirements when developing terminal layouts
    • Support the planning of key airport functions, including arrivals, departures, security, baggage, gates and passenger processing areas
    • Work closely with senior airport planners, architects and designers to develop coordinated design solutions
    • Produce drawings, diagrams, presentations and planning information for client and project reviews
    • Develop and maintain accurate Revit models throughout the design process
    • Coordinate airport planning requirements with architectural, structural, MEP and specialist consultant teams
    • Assist with the analysis and development of different planning options and scenarios
    • Participate in internal design reviews, workshops and client presentations
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the London studio and wider international aviation teams
    • Support projects across multiple stages while developing a broader understanding of airport design, operations and passenger experience

    Key Skills

    • Approximately 2–4 years' professional experience, ideally within aviation or airport design and planning
    • Previous experience working on airport, terminal or aviation-related projects is strongly preferred
    • Strong Revit proficiency is essential, with the role and project delivery based in Revit
    • Good architectural design and spatial planning ability
    • An understanding of passenger terminal planning and the different operational functions within an airport would be advantageous
    • Ability to interpret complex briefs and translate operational requirements into effective spatial solutions
    • Strong drawing, presentation and visual communication skills
    • Good understanding of multidisciplinary design coordination
    • Comfortable working within large and collaborative project teams
    • Strong communication skills and willingness to engage with different disciplines and stakeholders
    • Organised approach with the ability to work across multiple tasks and deadlines
    • A genuine interest in developing a long-term specialism within aviation and airport planning
    • Architecture, interior architecture, planning or another relevant built-environment qualification would be beneficial

This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging Airport Planner to develop their career within one of the world's leading aviation design environments. You would gain exposure to complex international airport projects, learn from highly experienced aviation specialists and become part of a collaborative London team with access to a much wider global aviation network. With projects delivered in Revit, the position would particularly suit someone who combines strong digital capability with a genuine interest in how airports operate and how thoughtful planning can improve the passenger experience.
