How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

Are you an Occupational Therapist looking for an opportunity to apply your professional skills in a different way?

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist (Employment & Wellbeing) to join a specialist team delivering an innovative vocational rehabilitation service. This is an exciting opportunity to combine occupational therapy practice with meaningful social impact, helping people overcome health-related barriers and move towards improved wellbeing, independence and sustainable employment.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support participants whose health, disability, neurodiversity or wellbeing barriers affect their ability to gain, retain or progress in employment. You will focus on functional ability rather than diagnosis alone, undertaking assessments, developing practical interventions, recommending adjustments and creating personalised plans that support long-term employment outcomes.

You will work closely with Employment Advisors, Wellbeing Specialists and employers to help participants build confidence, manage barriers and prepare for sustainable work.

This role offers the opportunity to develop specialist expertise in vocational rehabilitation, workplace health and supported employment, with structured support, professional supervision, CPD and ongoing development available.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Deliver specialist vocational rehabilitation support to participants experiencing health, disability, neurodiversity or wellbeing barriers.

    • Assess functional ability and the impact of physical and mental health conditions on employment and work readiness.

    • Conduct vocational and functional assessments, developing tailored interventions and support plans.

    • Develop work capability profiles, return-to-work plans and workplace adjustment recommendations.

    • Create and deliver rehabilitation, adaptation and workplace support strategies that improve employment outcomes.

    • Support participants to identify realistic employment goals and progress towards sustainable work.

    • Develop workplace-specific in-work support plans to promote job retention and sustainment.

    • Apply professional judgement and strong clinical reasoning to identify risks, barriers and opportunities.

    • Provide specialist advice and guidance to colleagues on vocational rehabilitation and workplace adjustments.

    • Participate in multidisciplinary triage activities and specialist pathway allocation.

    • Build effective relationships with employers, stakeholders and partner organisations.

    • Maintain accurate records, reports and evidence in line with quality and contractual standards.

    Skills and Experience

    • Current UK professional registration.

    • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist, or registration as another relevant health professional with appropriate vocational rehabilitation, occupational health, return-to-work or employment support experience.

    • Experience supporting individuals with complex health, disability or wellbeing needs.

    • Strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills.

    • Experience of report writing, assessments and action planning.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with participants, colleagues, employers and stakeholders.

    • A person-centred approach, demonstrating empathy, professionalism and a commitment to supporting positive outcomes.

    • Commitment to delivering high-quality assessments and customer experiences.

    • Knowledge of, or a strong interest in, vocational rehabilitation, workplace health or employment support.

    • Knowledge of workplace adjustments and Access to Work.

    • Experience within employment, wellbeing, occupational health or employability services.

    • Understanding of disability employment and workplace inclusion.
