How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Summary

We are looking for an experienced Analytical Chemist to join The Oxford Health Company’s growing laboratory team. This is a hands-on, fully supported role focused on analytical and laboratory testing across our fast-growing supplements business, with particular emphasis on HPLC testing, and the opportunity to further develop your skills and shape your career path with us.

    Who are we?

The Oxford Health Company is an award-winning contract manufacturing business specialising in the food supplement market. Since our incorporation in 2013, we’ve been recognised as one of the Times Top 100 Fastest-Growing Companies in 2023, with an impressive 58% average annual growth over the past three years. Our commitment to excellence has earned us numerous industry-specific accolades, including recent 2024 wins at the Oxfordshire Business Awards in both the Large Business and Green Award categories.

We are a dynamic, entrepreneurial team driven by a mission to become the UK’s leading Food Supplement Manufacturer, both in turnover and service quality. Our success is built on offering expert service and the industry's shortest lead times to new and medium-sized brands with high-value propositions.

Our headquarters and manufacturing facility are located in Bicester, with a second storage warehouse nearby. Since fitting out our state-of-the-art clean rooms and manufacturing facility in 2019, we have continued to invest in our infrastructure to better serve our customers and enhance operational efficiency.

    Your future with us

This is more than just a job. You’ll have ongoing support from TOHC experts right across the business, with the opportunity to build on your laboratory experience and develop into specialist areas such as:

    • Analytical Chemistry - Build on your experience in sample preparation, standards and calibration, HPLC testing, chromatographic data interpretation and clear documentation of results.
    • Testing & Quality - Work with our testing and quality teams to assess raw materials and finished products, support HPLC analysis, review results and ensure that every product meets rigorous safety, compliance and performance standards.
    • R&D & Method Development - Turn ideas into reliable analytical approaches, supporting formulation, stability work and the development or refinement of practical laboratory methods.
    • Manufacturing & Production - Get hands on with our manufacturing team, understanding how laboratory results, raw-material controls and in-process checks support the consistent production of high-quality supplements.

    What We’e Looking For:

    • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry or a closely related subject.
    • 2+ years’ laboratory experience, including sample preparation, preparation of standards, calibration and interpretation of chromatographic data.
    • Proven hands-on HPLC testing experience is essential, including method execution, sample analysis and chromatographic data interpretation; experience with HPLC troubleshooting is desirable but not essential.
    • Strong attention to detail, accurate record keeping and a willingness to learn bespoke laboratory technologies and processes.
    • Enthusiasm for health, wellness, and using science to make a positive impact.

    Why Join Us

Located in Oxfordshire, you'll be working in a cutting-edge laboratory and manufacturing environment designed for precise, reliable work.

    • Rewarding pay structure

You will receive a competitive salary, pension and healthcare benefits designed to reward and support you.
