How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Director - General Insurance M&A - Leading global management consultancy

    Location: London

    Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits

Miryco Consultants is working with a leading global management consultancy that is looking to appoint a senior professional to lead and develop its General Insurance M&A offering.

This is a high-profile opportunity for an established insurance M&A professional with a strong track record and extensive network across the GI M&A market. The successful candidate will play a leading role in developing the firm's M&A proposition, originating new opportunities and advising senior insurance clients on complex transactions.

The role would suit an individual who has built a strong reputation within General Insurance M&A and has significant experience working with insurers, investors and other key stakeholders across the market.

    The Opportunity

You will take a senior leadership position within the firm's General Insurance M&A practice, helping to shape and grow the proposition while continuing to operate at the forefront of the market.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    • Lead the development and growth of the General Insurance M&A offering.
    • Originate and develop new M&A opportunities through an established network across the GI market.
    • Build and maintain senior relationships with insurers, reinsurers, investors, private equity firms and other financial services stakeholders.
    • Lead the execution of complex M&A and strategic transactions from origination through to completion.
    • Advise clients on acquisitions, disposals, mergers, strategic investments and broader corporate transactions.
    • Provide strategic and commercial insight across the General Insurance market.
    • Develop and lead high-performing teams across transaction and advisory engagements.
    • Work closely with senior leadership to develop the firm's wider insurance strategy and market proposition.
    • Represent the business externally and build its profile within the GI M&A community.
    • Identify emerging market trends, opportunities and potential new areas for growth.
    • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level professionals within the wider team.

    About You

We are looking for an established senior professional with a demonstrable track record in General Insurance M&A.

    Ideally, you will have:

    • Significant experience within General Insurance M&A, corporate finance or strategic transactions.
    • An extensive and well-established network across the GI M&A market.
    • A strong track record of originating and executing M&A transactions.
    • Deep knowledge of the General Insurance sector and its key participants.
    • Strong relationships with senior executives across insurers, reinsurers, investors and financial institutions.
    • Experience working in a leading management consultancy, investment bank, corporate finance advisory business or similar environment.
    • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to identify and develop new opportunities.
    • The credibility and gravitas to operate effectively with C-suite and Board-level stakeholders.
    • Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-management skills.
    • Experience leading teams and developing junior talent.
    • The ability to combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to transaction execution.

Qualified actuary status would be advantageous but is not a pre-requisite. We are equally interested in senior professionals who have developed their expertise through investment banking, corporate finance, consultancy or another relevant M&A environment.

    Why Apply?

This is a rare opportunity to take a leadership position within an established General Insurance M&A platform and play a fundamental role in its continued growth.

The successful candidate will have significant autonomy to leverage their existing market relationships, develop new business and shape the firm's M&A proposition. It offers the opportunity to work with senior decision-makers across the global insurance market on some of the sector's most significant transactions and strategic challenges.

If you are an established GI M&A professional with a strong market reputation and network and are interested in taking a leading role within a global advisory business, we'd be keen to hear from you.
