Role: Associate Town Planner
Location: Edinburgh
Salary: 50-60k DOE
Hybrid: 2-3 days in the office
I'm working with a planning consultancy who are looking for an Associate Town Planner with between 5-7 years experience to join their growing team. Experience in the following fields would be preferred: Renewable Energy, Infrastructure, Residential, Commercial, Retail however other sectors are welcome. You'll be line managing and delegating work to junior members of staff and have the opportunity to have input in the growth of the team and wider business.
You'll be expected to:
- Manage and deliver a range of planning projects from inception through to submission and determination.
- Prepare and review high quality planning applications, statements, reports and supporting documentation.
- Provide strategic planning advice to clients across residential, commercial, infrastructure and development projects.
- Lead client relationships and act as a key point of contact throughout the planning process.
- Support and mentor junior planners, providing guidance on project delivery and technical planning matters.
- Contribute to business development activities, including identifying opportunities, developing client relationships and supporting the growth of the team.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Proven experience within a planning consultancy, development organisation or similar professional environment.
- Strong experience managing planning projects and advising clients across a range of sectors.
- Excellent knowledge of the UK planning system, with strong report-writing, analytical and communication skills.
- MRTPI chartership is essential, with a track record demonstrating progression and responsibility at Associate level.
- EIA experience would be welcomed but not essential
