How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We’re looking for an experienced transport planning professional who is technically strong, commercially aware and keen to take on greater responsibility.

    You’ll ideally have:

    • Significant experience within a transport planning consultancy.
    • A relevant degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or a related discipline.
    • Strong experience delivering Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
    • Experience working on development schemes within London.
    • A good understanding of London transport policy, planning processes and relevant guidance.
    • Experience engaging with TfL and London boroughs would be advantageous.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • The ability to manage projects and work effectively with clients and stakeholders.
    • Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues.
    • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Membership of a relevant professional body, or working towards professional accreditation, would be advantageous.

    What's on Offer

    • Competitive salary, dependent on experience.
    • Opportunity to join a growing and ambitious transport planning team.
    • Exposure to a diverse range of major development projects.
    • Clear progression opportunities within the business.
    • Support for professional development and relevant qualifications.
    • Hybrid working with a London-based office.
    • Increased responsibility and client exposure.
    • A collaborative working environment with the opportunity to make a genuine impact on the continued growth of the team.

If you're an experienced Principal Transport Planner or Associate looking for your next challenge in London, we'd be keen to hear from you.

This role would suit someone looking to take on greater responsibility, broaden their client exposure and progress their career within an established and growing transport planning consultancy.
