How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We're partnering with a leading global insurance and reinsurance business looking to hire a qualified Pricing Actuary.


    This role offers significant exposure to specialty and commercial insurance portfolios, working closely with underwriting teams to deliver pricing insights, portfolio analytics and strategic decision support. Alongside day-to-day pricing responsibilities, you'll play a key role in modernising pricing capabilities through advanced analytics, automation and model development initiatives.


    This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified actuary who enjoys combining technical excellence with commercial influence and stakeholder engagement.


    The Role

    Key responsibilities will include:

    • Pricing and reviewing complex commercial and specialty insurance risks.
    • Partnering with underwriters to support risk selection, portfolio management and profitability objectives.
    • Enhancing and maintaining pricing methodologies, rating tools and actuarial models.
    • Delivering portfolio monitoring, business planning and performance analysis across multiple lines of business.
    • Producing management information, dashboards and analytical insight for senior stakeholders.
    • Supporting pricing governance, model validation and technical documentation.
    • Driving improvements in pricing processes through automation and innovative analytical techniques.
    • Contributing to strategic projects involving pricing systems, data infrastructure and underwriting transformation.
    • Providing technical expertise and actuarial guidance across a range of business initiatives.


    About You

    • FIA, FCAS or equivalent qualification.
    • Proven pricing experience within commercial insurance, specialty insurance or reinsurance.
    • Strong understanding of actuarial pricing techniques and portfolio analytics.
    • Advanced Excel skills, with exposure to programming languages such as Python highly advantageous.
    • The confidence to engage directly with underwriters and senior business stakeholders.
    • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
    • An interest in innovation, predictive modelling and the future of actuarial pricing.
