Commissioning Planning Engineer (IPC) | Hinkley Point C | Hybrid
Are you a Planning from an engineering background who wants to be the go-to person on one of the most complex and consequential engineering programmes in the world?
We're looking for a Commissioning Planning Engineer to join the Integrated Project Controls (IPC) function at Hinkley Point C — the UK's new nuclear power station and a £26bn landmark in British infrastructure.
This isn't a role where you'll pick up a programme mid-flow. You'll be embedded from the commissioning phase through to energisation — owning the Level 2/4 Integrated Work Schedule, shaping decisions at programme level, and seeing the full arc of a once-in-a-generation project through to completion.
🎯 Your Mission
- Own and maintain the master IWS in Primavera P6, fully logic-linked and aligned to the Work Breakdown Structure
- Be the central point of contact for schedule performance — co-ordinating across Cost, Risk, Estimating, and Earned Value disciplines
- Drive the Trend & Change process, identifying risks and opportunities at project level
- Produce programme-level schedule reports and present performance insights to senior leadership
- Act as the intelligent centre of planning — the person teams turn to when they need clarity
✅ What We're Looking For
- Primavera P6 experience
- Worked in engineering or construction before would be ideal
- Nuclear experience is a bonus — the right major programme background will be considered
🏆 Why Join Assystem?
Assystem is one of the world's leading nuclear engineering consultancies, and our people are at the heart of HPC — the most significant energy infrastructure project in the UK for a generation.
Here's what you get:
- 🏖️ 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
- 🩺 Private medical insurance
- 💰 Competitive salary and performance bonus
- 🎓 Professional development and chartership support
- 🔋 Life assurance
- 🤝 Collaborative, expert team environment
- 🌍 Hybrid working — with a base at HPC Bridgwater
This is the kind of role that defines a career. If you want to say you helped build Britain's energy future — and be the person others relied on to keep it on track — this is it.
