How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Their projects range from listed building restorations and complex refurbishment schemes through to bespoke new build developments, providing a varied and interesting portfolio of work.

Attending site visits and pre-tender meetings where required.
Working closely with Directors, Project Managers and Commercial teams throughout the bid process.
Supporting project handovers to operational teams following successful tender awards.
Maintaining awareness of current market rates and construction costs. This role is predominantly office-based within the Norwich area. You will also ideally have:-

Experience working for a main contractor or specialist construction business.
A strong understanding of construction methods and building processes.
The ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender information.
Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
Good communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
Experience in heritage, restoration, refurbishment or timber frame construction would be highly advantageous but is not essential.
    What you'll get in return:-

    Competitive salary and benefits package.
Opportunity to work on unique and technically interesting projects.
Exposure to heritage and restoration schemes across East Anglia.
Long-term career prospects with a stable and growing contractor.
