How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Procurement Coordinator

    Location: Birmingham
    Hours: Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
    Salary: £51,000 per annum + discretionary bonus
    Working Arrangement: Office based

    About the RoleWe are recruiting for an experienced Procurement Coordinator to join a successful and growing UK manufacturing and distribution business based in Birmingham.

    Reporting to the Purchasing and Operations Director, you will take responsibility for supporting the organisation's purchasing strategy, ordering materials and components, and working closely with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries to production sites.

    You will play a key role in maintaining effective stock control, managing inventory levels and supporting the business in achieving competitive purchasing costs.

    About YouThe successful candidate will have:

    A proven track record in procurement, purchasing and supply chain processes

    Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail

    A proactive approach with the ability to solve problems, use initiative and make informed decisions

    Experience managing a broad range of SKUs

    Strong analytical skills, particularly in relation to stock forecasting, sales trends and manufacturing requirements

    The ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers

    Experience with diversified sourcing and supply chain risk management

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    Excellent written and spoken English

    Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel

    Good Maths and English skills

    A full UK driving licence

    The flexibility and willingness to travel within the UK and overseas when required

    The right to work in the UK

    A CIPS qualification would be advantageous

    Key ResponsibilitiesAs Procurement Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:

    Supporting the full procurement cycle, including supplier research, cost comparisons, purchase orders and supplier relationship management

    Supporting negotiations with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing and terms

    Ensuring stock levels are optimised against product sales, production requirements and warehouse capacity

    Raising purchase orders and validating supplier invoices

    Providing the wider business with updates on pricing and changes affecting product costings

    Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers

    Monitoring purchase orders and resolving outstanding deliveries and invoice queries

    Maintaining approved supplier and product databases

    Assisting with supplier risk assessments

    Supporting cost-saving initiatives through negotiation and alternative sourcing

    Maintaining procurement records and databases

    Producing analysis and forecasting reports to identify procurement and supply trends

    Working collaboratively with other internal departments to identify and respond to business requirements

    Attending supplier meetings as required
