How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Supply Chain Coordinator

    Harlesden, London

    Monday - Friday , 8am - 4.30pm (1 day Working from home)

    £35,000 - £40,000 (DOE)

    Alexander Steele is delighted to be supporting a food manufacturing business in the search for a Supply Chain Coordinator.


    This is an excellent opportunity for a supply chain professional to join a growing food manufacturing business and play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials, inventory, and products throughout the supply chain.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage the purchasing of raw materials, packaging, and external services.
    • Support demand forecasting and inventory planning to ensure material availability.
    • Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong supplier relationships.
    • Obtain quotations and negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements.
    • Identify opportunities to reduce costs across purchasing, warehousing, and distribution activities.
    • Coordinate material planning to optimise stock levels and minimise waste.
    • Develop contingency plans to reduce supply chain risks and maintain continuity of supply.
    • Assist with sourcing activities for new product development projects.
    • Track and report supply chain KPIs, recommending improvements where required.
    • Work closely with Production, Operations, Quality, and other internal departments to ensure business objectives are achieved.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain function.
    • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and health & safety standards.
    • Maintain awareness of industry developments and supply chain best practices.


    Skills & Experience

    • Previous experience within a Supply Chain, Purchasing, Materials Planning, or Procurement role.
    • Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, or a manufacturing environment is desirable.
    • Strong organisational and planning abilities.
    • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Commercial awareness with the ability to negotiate effectively.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
