How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Scope

We are seeking an analytical and proactive Contract Administrator to support the commercial management of a major transformation programme. This role will provide dedicated operational support to the commercial function, ensuring contractual obligations, governance requirements, compliance activities, and commercial records are managed effectively and consistently.

Working closely with the Commercial Manager, you will act as a key interface between programme delivery teams, suppliers, and commercial stakeholders. You will be responsible for maintaining robust contract management controls, monitoring contractual compliance, supporting governance activities, and escalating contractual or commercial risks where appropriate.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments. This position is particularly suited to individuals with experience gained within a law firm, legal, contract management, commercial administration, or project support environment who are looking to further develop their commercial and contract management expertise.

    Role

The Contract Administrator will support the day-to-day administration and management of commercial contracts across a large-scale programme environment. The role requires an individual who can analyse information, identify emerging contractual issues, maintain accurate records, and support the commercial team in ensuring contractual obligations are met.

You will contribute to the successful management of contracts with values ranging from £10m-£20m and support supplier engagement, contractual governance, compliance monitoring, and commercial reporting activities. The role requires sound judgement, a logical approach to problem solving, and the confidence to identify and escalate risks and issues appropriately.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage day-to-day contract administration activities across the programme.
    • Maintain contract registers, trackers, commercial records, and governance documentation.
    • Ensure contractual communications, decisions, actions, and approvals are accurately recorded and auditable.
    • Track key contractual milestones, obligations, review periods, service levels, and notice requirements.
    • Monitor supplier performance and compliance against contractual obligations.
    • Identify potential contractual risks, compliance concerns, or performance issues and escalate appropriately.
    • Coordinate review and approval processes for contractual notices, correspondence, and commercial documentation.
    • Draft, proofread, and manage formal contractual and business communications.
    • Produce contract summaries, briefing notes, and management information reports.
    • Support the collection and analysis of information required for commercial assessments and decision-making.
    • Assist with contract change control, governance processes, and commercial reporting activities.
    • Gather evidence and supporting documentation relating to contractual issues and disputes where required.
    • Support implementation and monitoring of mitigation plans for contractual and commercial risks.
    • Develop and maintain contract management procedures, standards, and guidance documentation.
    • Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, delivery teams, suppliers, and external partners.

    Required Experience

    Essential

    • Minimum 3 years' experience within contract administration, commercial administration, project support, paralegal, or similar role.
    • Experience working within a law firm, legal services, contract management, or commercially focused environment.
    • Experience supporting contract management, supplier management, or commercial governance activities.
    • Experience maintaining complex records, contractual documentation, trackers, and reporting packs.
    • Experience preparing formal business correspondence and contractual communications.
    • Experience identifying, assessing, and escalating issues requiring management attention.
    • Experience working on long-term projects or programmes, ideally with a minimum tenure of 2 years on a single programme or assignment.
    • Experience working in client-facing environments and engaging with multiple stakeholder groups.

    Desirable

    • Experience within digital transformation, technology, infrastructure, or public sector programmes.
    • Experience supporting contracts with values between £10m and £20m.
    • Experience monitoring contractual compliance, obligations, and supplier performance.
    • Experience supporting commercial contracts within large-scale programmes or operational environments.
    • Understanding of dispute resolution, litigation support, or contractual issue management.

    Required Skills

    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review documentation and identify risks, gaps, inconsistencies, and commercial implications.
    • Excellent attention to detail and a highly organised approach.
    • Strong written communication, proofreading, and document management skills.
    • Ability to interpret contractual requirements and monitor compliance effectively.
    • Logical and structured approach to problem solving and issue resolution.
    • Confidence in identifying and escalating contractual, commercial, and operational risks.
    • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
    • Ability to prioritise competing demands in a fast-paced programme environment.
    • Self-starter mentality with a proactive approach and willingness to take initiative.
    • Commercial awareness and an understanding of contract governance principles.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management tracking tools.

    Required Education
