How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Retail Projects and Visual Merchandising Coordinator

    Location: Marylebone London

    Hours: Full time in-office

    Salary banding: £40,000

    About Smartech

Smartech is the home of innovation, a destination where people discover, try, and experience the world's most exciting technology, health, gaming, and lifestyle brands. Our experience-led concept stores, based in London and New York, give the best brands in the world a stage to connect with curious, discerning consumers.

Our brand partner roster includes names like Amazon, PlayStation, Whoop, Loop Earplugs, LG, Devialet, and dozens more across tech, audio, health, and mobility. We don't just stock brands, we build platforms for them.

    The Role

This is an operational and creative role overseeing how Smartech looks, feels, and functions across its retail environments. You will own the end-to-end delivery of retail projects and visual merchandising across the UK and EU, lead our community and technology initiatives in those markets, and coordinate with the Retail Projects and Visual Merchandising Coordinator based in our New York store.

Think of how the world's best concept retailers create immersive, constantly evolving store environments that feel intentional at every touchpoint. That's the standard this role is responsible for. You'll be equally comfortable managing the logistics of a full store refresh and briefing a VM concept that brings a brand partner's campaign to life in-store.

This is not a purely creative role and it's not a purely operational one. You sit at the intersection — turning ambitious ideas into executed reality, on time and on budget, across multiple markets.

    What You'll Be Doing

    Retail Projects

    • Own the planning and delivery of retail projects across UK and EU stores, from minor refreshes to full-scale reconfigurations

    • Manage timelines, budgets, contractors, and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification

    • Work closely with the CEO, brand partners, and store teams to scope and prioritise upcoming projects

    • Ensure new brand partner installations, shop-in-shops, and fixture builds are executed to the highest standard

    Visual Merchandising

    • Set and maintain the VM direction across UK and EU retail environments, ensuring spaces are always inspiring, brand-consistent, and commercially effective

    • Develop VM concepts for brand partner campaigns, launches, and seasonal activations

    • Build and maintain VM guidelines, planograms, and rollout toolkits for store teams

    • React quickly to change — new brand partners, campaign launches, and product drops require fast, high-quality VM turnarounds

    Community & Technology

    • Lead Smartech's community and technology retail initiatives across UK and EU markets, ensuring our stores remain at the forefront of experiential retail

    • Identify and implement in-store technology that enhances the customer and brand partner experience

    • Represent Smartech at relevant industry events, activations, and retail forums

    Internal Collaboration

    • Work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team on store strategy, new market opportunities, and the evolution of the Smartech retail concept

    • Coordinate with the Marketing and Content teams to ensure VM and in-store experiences are aligned with campaigns and brand partner activity

    • Feed insight back into the wider business on what's working in-store, what brand partners need, and where the retail experience can improve

    What We're Looking For

You might come from a premium retailer, concept store, VM agency, retail design studio, or brand — what matters most is proven experience delivering retail projects and visual merchandising to a high standard, across multiple locations.

We'd love to hear from people who have:

    • Hands-on experience managing retail projects and/or visual merchandising, ideally across UK, EU, or international locations

    • Strong project management skills — timelines, budgets, suppliers, and multiple workstreams running simultaneously

    • A sharp visual eye and the ability to translate a brand's identity into a compelling physical retail environment

    • Experience managing or coordinating remote team members across different markets

    • Confidence working directly with senior stakeholders, brand partners, and external contractors

    • Familiarity with in-store technology and experiential retail concepts

    • Excellent communication and organisational skills

    • An interest in innovation, consumer technology, lifestyle, or culture

    Requirements and Preferences:

    • Experience: 2-3 years managing Retail Projects
    • Skills: Strong communication, project management and problem solving
    • Basic knowledge of design, 2D drawings and Canva are a plus
