How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

🚀 Head of Human Resources (Permanent)

    📍 London | Hybrid - 3 days in office

    💰 £105,000 - £120,000 + discretionary bonus

Robert Half is partnering with a growing management consultancy (c.180 employees) to appoint a Head of HR. You'll take on an established function with a settled team already in place, and a clear opportunity to shape its next phase as the firm continues to grow.

You'll be the senior HR voice in the business, working directly with Practice Directors on how the firm staffs, develops and retains its consultants. You'll manage a team of two (an HR Business Partner and an HR Advisor, both established in their roles) and will be expected to build on a solid foundation while bringing your own ideas to where the function goes next.

    🌟 The Role

    • Refine and evolve the HR strategy, with an early focus on career progression frameworks
    • Partner with Practice Directors on resourcing and workforce planning as new service lines come online
    • Manage and continue developing your direct reports (HRBP & HR Advisor)
    • Lead succession planning at Manager and Senior Manager level, where retention has been inconsistent
    • Own annual performance reviews, compensation benchmarking, engagement surveys, and use the results to sharpen decisions, not just report on them
    • Bring workforce data (attrition by grade, time-to-promotion, utilisation) into leadership discussions
    • Continue the firm's DE&I and wellbeing agenda, with board-level support to build on what's already in motion

    🎯 About You

    • Currently operating as a Head of HR, HR Director, or a strong Senior HRBP ready for their first standalone leadership role, ideally within a consultancy or professional services firm
    • Comfortable partnering with and influencing partners/directors, including pushing back where needed
    • Experience managing and developing an HR team, not just individual delivery
    • A generalist skillset, with particular strength in organisational design and talent
    • Able to pick up an existing function quickly and build credibility with a team that already has its own ways of working

    🌈 Package

    • £105,000 - £120,000 + discretionary bonus
    • Private medical and dental insurance
    • Employer pension contributions
    • Life assurance
    • 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays
    • Flexible hybrid working
