How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Location: London | Hybrid

    Sector: Insurance

A leading global insurance firm is looking for an experienced Risk & Compliance Framework Lead to join its team and play a key role in designing and implementing a new global risk and compliance framework.

This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who has genuinely built and implemented risk and compliance frameworks from the ground up and is comfortable working across complex international environments.

The framework will be implemented across approximately 16 countries, so the successful candidate will need to understand how to establish consistent global standards while adapting them to different regulatory requirements and jurisdictions.

    The Role

You will take ownership of the design, development and implementation of the firm's risk and compliance framework, working closely with stakeholders across multiple countries and functions.

This is a hands-on position. The business is looking for someone with senior-level experience who still enjoys getting into the detail, building frameworks and delivering the work rather than simply managing through others.

You will play a key role in establishing a scalable, sustainable framework that provides consistency across the organisation while recognising local regulatory nuances.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design and implement a global risk and compliance framework from the ground up.
    • Develop policies, standards, controls and governance structures to support the framework.
    • Lead implementation across approximately 60 countries.
    • Assess local regulatory requirements and incorporate jurisdiction-specific considerations into the global framework.
    • Establish consistent risk and compliance methodologies across international operations.
    • Work with local stakeholders to understand regulatory and operational differences.
    • Develop clear governance, ownership and accountability models.
    • Support the implementation of risk and compliance processes, controls and reporting.
    • Identify gaps within existing risk and compliance arrangements and develop practical remediation plans.
    • Work closely with technology and data teams to embed risk and compliance requirements into systems and processes.
    • Support the use of Microsoft Purview and related Microsoft technologies within the risk, compliance and governance environment.
    • Engage with senior stakeholders across risk, compliance, technology, legal and business functions.
    • Provide practical guidance on regulatory requirements and framework implementation.
    • Track implementation progress and ensure frameworks are embedded effectively across jurisdictions.
    • Continuously review and improve the framework as regulatory expectations and business requirements evolve.

    Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Risk, Compliance or GRC professional with a strong track record of building frameworks rather than simply operating within established ones.

You should be able to demonstrate:

    • Proven experience designing and implementing risk and compliance frameworks from scratch.
    • Experience working across multiple countries and regulatory jurisdictions.
    • Strong understanding of international risk and compliance requirements.
    • Experience translating global frameworks into locally appropriate requirements.
    • Demonstrable experience delivering complex framework implementations.
    • Strong stakeholder management skills across international and senior audiences.
    • Excellent understanding of governance, risk, controls and compliance principles.
    • Experience working with Microsoft Purview would be highly advantageous.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication.
    • The ability to work independently and take ownership of significant pieces of work.

    The Person

This role will suit someone who is experienced and credible but remains highly hands-on.

The successful candidate will be energetic, pragmatic and delivery-focused, with the ability to move quickly from strategy into execution.

You should enjoy building something new, getting into the detail and working directly with stakeholders to make things happen.

The firm is specifically looking for someone who can combine senior-level judgement with a willingness to roll up their sleeves and deliver.

    Why Join?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a top-tier global insurance firm and play a central role in establishing a major international risk and compliance framework.

You will have significant ownership, international exposure and the opportunity to shape how risk and compliance are managed across a global organisation.
