How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Mid-Weight UX Designer

    The Role

As a Mid-Weight UX / Product Designer, you will help create intuitive, accessible and effective digital products and services for a range of clients.

Working within cross-functional teams, you will contribute across the end-to-end design process, from understanding user and business needs through to defining journeys, developing concepts, prototyping solutions and supporting delivery. You will work closely with senior designers, researchers, service designers, product specialists and technologists to turn insight into clear, evidence-led design decisions.

Your primary focus will be user experience design. You will also apply service design thinking to understand the wider journeys, processes and interactions that surround a digital product or service.

Our practice is formed around three core pillars: Clients, Craft and Culture.

    Clients

    • Build an understanding of client objectives, user needs and the wider service context.
    • Independently create high-quality UX deliverables for defined areas of a project.
    • Clearly communicate the rationale behind your design decisions.
    • Present work to clients and respond constructively to feedback.
    • Participate in workshops, collaborative design sessions and stakeholder discussions.
    • Help balance user needs, business objectives and technical considerations.

    Craft

    • Translate research findings, data and business requirements into meaningful design opportunities.
    • Create user journeys, experience maps, task flows, information architectures, wireframes and interactive prototypes.
    • Design coherent end-to-end experiences across digital products, channels and service touchpoints.
    • Apply service design methods to explore how people, processes, technology and touchpoints contribute to the overall experience.
    • Plan and support usability testing, using findings to iterate and improve designs.
    • Work with researchers to define learning objectives and identify assumptions that need to be tested.
    • Collaborate with UI designers and design-system teams to develop consistent, usable and accessible experiences.
    • Work closely with technologists to understand feasibility and support successful implementation.
    • Take ownership of specific design deliverables while seeking guidance when appropriate.
    • Share knowledge, provide constructive feedback and support the development of less-experienced colleagues.

    Culture

    • Participate actively in critiques, showcases and studio activities.
    • Contribute to an open, supportive and collaborative design culture.
    • Share useful methods, tools and learning with colleagues.
    • Be receptive to feedback and use it to strengthen your work.
    • Champion inclusive, accessible and user-centred design.
    • Support colleagues across disciplines when needed.

    Key Responsibilities

As a Mid-Weight UX / Product Designer, you will be expected to:

    • Contribute throughout the design lifecycle, from discovery and problem definition through to design, validation and delivery.
    • Gather and synthesise user, business and technical inputs to develop a clear understanding of the problem.
    • Define user journeys, tasks, flows and interactions across products and services.
    • Produce sketches, wireframes, prototypes, journey maps and other appropriate design artefacts.
    • Use prototyping to explore ideas, communicate intent and test assumptions.
    • Support or facilitate workshops with users, clients and cross-functional team members.
    • Participate in user research and usability testing, translating findings into design improvements.
    • Consider frontstage and backstage interactions when designing experiences across a service.
    • Identify pain points, gaps and opportunities within existing journeys and processes.
    • Create detailed, implementation-ready designs in collaboration with UI designers and technologists.
    • Apply accessibility and inclusive-design principles throughout your work.
    • Use established design systems and contribute to their continued development where appropriate.
    • Explain your work clearly to design colleagues, clients and non-design stakeholders.
    • Manage your own deliverables and priorities within agreed project timelines.
    • Contribute to design quality through critiques, reviews and collaborative working.

    Key Skills and Experience

    • Relevant professional experience in UX, product or interaction design within an agency, consultancy or product organisation.
    • A portfolio demonstrating your contribution to user-centred digital products or services.
    • Strong understanding of UX design principles, interaction design and information architecture.
    • Experience creating user journeys, task flows, wireframes and interactive prototypes.
    • Experience using research evidence, usability findings or data to inform design decisions.
    • Familiarity with service design principles and methods, such as experience mapping, service blueprints, ecosystem mapping and touchpoint analysis.
    • An understanding of how digital interfaces connect with wider services, operational processes and customer journeys.
    • Experience working collaboratively with researchers, designers, product specialists, engineers and other disciplines.
    • Strong working knowledge of Figma
    • Awareness of accessibility standards and inclusive-design practices.
    • Ability to communicate design decisions and explain the rationale behind your work.
    • Confidence presenting work and contributing to client or stakeholder conversations.
    • Ability to receive constructive feedback and apply it effectively.
    • Good organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to manage defined areas of work independently.
    • A curious, collaborative and pragmatic approach to solving problems.
    • Experience working within multidisciplinary agile teams.
