How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Genuine generalist Corporate seat at an elite global platform, actively growing in one of the most active M&A markets in years.

2026 has proven to be a genuinely exciting year for London-based corporate lawyers. With interest rates easing, private equity sponsors sitting on record levels of dry powder, and the UK confirmed once again as Europe's largest M&A market by deal value, corporate teams across the City are busier and more ambitious than they've been in some time. Against that backdrop, a leading international firm is actively growing its London Corporate practice, with a particular focus on junior associates at the 0.5–2 PQE level. This isn't a defensive or reactive hire brought on by attrition it's a genuinely proactive, forward-looking search, with partners actively investing in expanding the team's capability and bench strength to meet rising deal volumes head-on.

    About the Practice

This is one of London's leading US-style Corporate practices, built on a broad and genuinely integrated platform spanning M&A, Private Equity and Public M&A. Associates work fluidly across both sponsor-side and strategic mandates rather than being boxed into narrow, siloed specialist teams from day one a structure that's increasingly rare as more practices push associates towards early specialisation. The team sits within a substantial global platform, with dozens of partners, well over a hundred associates, and a strong bench of counsel supporting the London office alone, giving associates the reassurance of scale alongside the intimacy of close-knit deal teams.

The current market backdrop only sharpens the appeal of the role. Outbound M&A now accounts for a significant share of UK deal value as corporates look beyond domestic borders to build scale and diversify, sponsors are showing renewed confidence in deploying long-accumulated capital as financing conditions stabilise, and the UK's public M&A market continues to see sustained interest from both strategic bidders and private equity sponsors — with take-private activity, in particular, expected to remain a feature of the market through 2026 and beyond. It's a genuinely dynamic time to be building a career in London Corporate, and this team sits right at the centre of that activity.

    What Sets This Opportunity Apart

    • Genuine generalist model, not narrow specialisation. The practice is deliberately structured so associates gain broad exposure across Public M&A, Private M&A and Private Equity, rather than being pigeonholed early into one lane a genuinely rare and increasingly valuable career foundation in a market that's pushing many junior lawyers towards premature specialisation.
    • Public M&A exposure a genuine rarity at junior level. Listed company work and broad, varied deal sheets are specifically prized here and relatively uncommon in the market at this PQE range, making this a real differentiator for candidates who already have some exposure, and a genuine opportunity to build it for those who don't.
    • Lean deal teams, early and meaningful responsibility. Significant client exposure and heavy transaction involvement from an early stage, rather than sitting on the periphery of oversized deal teams doing purely administrative work.
    • High-quality, genuinely international transaction flow, working with both financial sponsors and strategic corporates rather than being limited to one client type invaluable exposure as cross-border and outbound dealmaking continues to accelerate.
    • Active investment in growth, not just replacement. Partners are proactively expanding the team's capability rather than simply backfilling departures a meaningful signal about the trajectory, ambition and confidence of the practice.
    • A genuinely elite global brand, offering the calibre of platform, training and deal experience that opens doors throughout a legal career, whether that future lies in private practice, in-house, or beyond.

    What They Are Looking For

    • Trained and qualified at an Elite US or Magic Circle firm (though exceptional candidates from other platforms will be genuinely considered where they've clearly outperformed relative to their peers)
    • Strong academics
    • Broad Corporate experience with solid M&A exposure
    • Private Equity experience desirable; Public M&A exposure particularly attractive
    • Comfortable and genuinely enthusiastic about advising both sponsors and corporates, rather than wanting to specialise purely in PE or purely in Public M&A this early in a career
    • Strong deal exposure, meaningful transaction responsibility, and a track record of high billable hours reflecting genuine, substantive involvement
    • Commercial, collaborative, technically strong, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-performing environment

    The Process

A straightforward and efficient process designed to move quickly for the right candidate: an initial CV review, a partner meeting, and typically two to three further interview stages assessing both technical ability and overall fit with the team.
