How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you an experienced Press Brake Machinist who enjoys working with precision machinery and producing high-quality components?


    The role

    AET is looking for a skilled Press Brake Machinist to join our experienced manufacturing team. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a respected engineering business with a strong family feel.


    You will be responsible for setting up and operating computer-controlled Bystronic press brake machines, creating quality steel components while maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and efficiency.


    Working from engineering drawings, you will use your knowledge and experience to programme machines, check finished parts, and ensure every component meets the required specification.

    This role offers a rate of pay of £15.70 per hour with a rotating shift pattern:

    • Morning shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm
    • Afternoon shift: Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm – 12:00am


    Key Responsibilities

    As a Press Brake Machinist, you will:

    • Set up and operate Bystronic press brake machinery
    • Programme components accurately using engineering drawings
    • Read and interpret technical drawings, bend symbols, and manufacturing information
    • Produce components to required tolerances and quality standards
    • Complete dimensional checks and adjust programmes where needed
    • Work confidently with flat profile drawings and development lengths
    • Identify and resolve issues during production
    • Support other operators and share your knowledge when required

    The person

    We are looking for a Press Brake Machinist who has:

    • Previous experience working within a press brake or similar engineering environment
    • Apprentice-trained or time-served engineering experience
    • Experience operating Bystronic presses
    • The ability to confidently read and work from engineering drawings
    • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and health and safety
    • Experience using measuring equipment such as callipers, micrometres, protractors, and tape measures
    • A reliable approach with strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
