How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Be part of the movement - and play your part.

    About the role

Providing HSE guidance and support to managers and operational teams, helping ensure safe working practices and compliance with relevant legislation, company standards and the DFDS Safety Management System.

Monitoring HSE performance and trends, using KPIs, risk assessments and other data to identify areas for improvement and support the delivery of measurable HSE improvement plans.

Supporting incident and accident investigations, helping establish root causes, identify corrective actions and ensure recommendations are sustainable and effectively implemented to prevent recurrence.

Developing and promoting HSE awareness, delivering training, Toolbox Talks, Safety Alerts and best-practice initiatives, while supporting emergency exercises and preparedness activities.

Maintaining and improving HSE systems and processes, including Risk Registers, Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, Crisis Management, Business Continuity Plans and relevant ISO accreditations, working collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholders.

    About you

You are a proactive and self-motivated Health & Safety professional with a NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) and relevant experience working within an industrial, manufacturing, logistics or operational environment. You have a strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation and are confident applying this knowledge in a practical, hands-on setting. You will be comfortable carrying out risk assessments, incident investigations, inspections and audits, as well as producing clear and accurate reports and safety documentation.

Organised and able to work independently, you can manage competing priorities and take ownership of your workload. Most importantly, you bring a proactive approach, a positive attitude and a fun personality, helping to make health and safety engaging and embedded across the business.
