A welcoming and inclusive SEN school in Newbury is seeking a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is an ideal opportunity for a Psychology graduate looking to gain practical experience before pursuing a career in teaching, educational psychology, mental health or other child-focused professions.
As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will provide personalised support to pupils with a variety of additional needs, which may include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties and complex behavioural needs.
The Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant role will involve:
Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
* Helping students engage positively with their learning
* Developing positive relationships with pupils and encouraging confidence
* Supporting emotional wellbeing and behaviour management
* Using an understanding of psychology to adapt support to individual needs
* Assisting Teachers with classroom activities and interventions
* Promoting independence, communication and social development
* ASAP start in Newbury with good transport linksThe school is looking for a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant who is caring, resilient and genuinely passionate about helping young people. Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals is desirable, alongside a strong interest in SEN and mental health.
This Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant role would provide excellent exposure to specialist education and the opportunity to work alongside experienced Teachers and support staff.
