How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant - Specialist School - Newbury
    Pay: £90.00 - £105.00 per day

    Have you recently graduated with a Psychology degree and want to gain meaningful experience supporting children and young people?

    Are you interested in developing your understanding of behaviour, mental health, learning and additional needs within a specialist school?

    A welcoming and inclusive SEN school in Newbury is seeking a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is an ideal opportunity for a Psychology graduate looking to gain practical experience before pursuing a career in teaching, educational psychology, mental health or other child-focused professions.

    As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will provide personalised support to pupils with a variety of additional needs, which may include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties and complex behavioural needs.

    The Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant role will involve:

    Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
    * Helping students engage positively with their learning
    * Developing positive relationships with pupils and encouraging confidence
    * Supporting emotional wellbeing and behaviour management
    * Using an understanding of psychology to adapt support to individual needs
    * Assisting Teachers with classroom activities and interventions
    * Promoting independence, communication and social development
