How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Pay: £90.00 - £105.00 per day

    Are you a calm, resilient and enthusiastic Behaviour Support Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity in Newbury?

    Do you have experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs or additional learning needs?

    A specialist SEN school in Newbury is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join their supportive team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and develop confidence, independence and positive behaviour.

    As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who may display challenging or dysregulated behaviour, providing consistent support and helping them develop strategies to manage their emotions. You will build positive relationships with pupils and provide reassurance during difficult situations.

    The Behaviour Support Assistant role will involve:

    Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
    * Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
    * Helping pupils engage with learning and classroom activities
    * Building trusting relationships and acting as a positive role model
    * Working closely with Teachers and pastoral staff to provide consistent support
    * Creating a calm, safe and structured environment for pupils
    * ASAP start in Newbury, with good transport linksThe school is looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant who is patient, consistent and able to remain calm under pressure. Previous experience within education, care, youth work, mental health or SEN is desirable, although applicants with strong transferable experience are also encouraged to apply.
