How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Overview

    We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Operative to join our team. This role plays a key part in ensuring the efficient manufacturing of quality products, adhering to safety standards and delivering operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have experience in mixing components, working with chemicals, powders, and liquids, as well as manual handling and operating machinery within a production environment.     Responsibilities

    Mixing Components: Measure and blend raw chemicals, powders, and liquids following prescribed formulas and safety guidelines.
    Machine Operating: Set up, operate, monitor, and maintain production machinery to achieve optimal efficiency and product quality.
    Manual Handling: Safely handle materials, components, and finished goods, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
    Quality Control: Inspect produced goods to ensure all specifications are met and flag any quality or performance issues.
    Safety Compliance: Follow strict safety protocols when working with hazardous materials and machinery, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
    Process Management: Adhere to production schedules and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
    Team Collaboration: Work closely with teammates, supervisors, and cross-functional teams to support production goals and solve operational challenges.
    Record Keeping: Maintain accurate production logs and documentation for compliance and traceability purposes.

    Qualifications

    Required Skills and Experience:

    Proven experience as a Production Operative or in a similar role.
    Familiarity with working with chemicals, powders, and liquids.
    Competency in mixing components to precise measurements and operating machinery.
    Experience with manual handling tasks in a production environment.

    Key Competencies:

    Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
    Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute positively as part of a team.
    Physically capable of performing manual handling tasks, including standing for extended periods and lifting moderately heavy objects.

    Other Requirements:

    Basic knowledge of health and safety protocols in a production environment.
    Flexible working hours to meet production needs may be required.

    Day-to-Day

    Start the day by reviewing the production schedule and preparing materials needed for tasks.
    Perform thorough checks to ensure machinery and equipment is in proper working condition.
    Mix chemicals, powders, and liquids according to specific formulas while maintaining a safe and clean workspace.
    Operate and monitor machines throughout the shift, troubleshooting minor issues as they arise.
    Conduct quality checks on finished products, and document results for traceability and compliance.
    Collaborate with colleagues to address any production challenges and ensure smooth operations.
    Regularly clean and organize the work area, ensuring surplus materials, tools, and equipment are stored safely.
    End the day with a detailed handover or update to the supervisor regarding completed tasks and any issues that need attention.

    The shifts are mornings & afternoons rotating weekly Monday to Friday.

    The basic pay is £12.71/h.
