How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Mechanical Contracts Manager - Data Centres London / M25 | Permanent | £90,000-£110,000 + Package

We're working with an established and growing mechanical contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to support their expanding Data Centre client base across London and the M25.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys managing multiple projects, smaller works packages and variations within live Data Centre environments, rather than overseeing one large hyperscale build.

The Role You'll take responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple mechanical projects throughout the full lifecycle, from design and pre-construction through to installation, commissioning and handover. You'll work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and internal Design, Estimating and Commercial teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, commercially and to programme.

    Key responsibilities include:

Managing multiple mechanical projects and smaller works packages concurrently
Taking projects from pre-construction and design through to commissioning and handover
Managing variations, delays, programme impacts and commercial risks
Working closely with QS / Commercial teams to protect project margins
Managing subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and wider project teams
    Developing and maintaining project programmes
    Chairing client and project meetings
Managing RFIs, TQs and technical submissions
Identifying and mitigating design, delivery and commercial risks
Maintaining strong client relationships and acting as a key point of contact
Ensuring compliance with CDM, HSEQ and project governance requirements
Supporting and developing members of the project team
Identifying opportunities for additional works and improving project profitability About You

We're looking for someone with solid mechanical project delivery experience who is comfortable working in Data Centres, critical environments or similarly complex live environments.

    You'll ideally have:

Previous Contracts Manager experience, or be ready to step up into the position
    Strong mechanical project management experience
    Experience managing multiple projects/packages simultaneously
    Full lifecycle project delivery experience
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of variations and contractual risk
Good knowledge of JCT contracts and CDM
    Strong programme management skills
Excellent client and stakeholder management skills
    Experience managing subcontractors and suppliers
    Strong leadership and communication skills
A proactive, commercially minded approach Please note: this is specifically suited to someone with experience managing multiple smaller projects/packages and variations within live Data Centre environments. It is not aimed at candidates whose background is solely managing large-scale hyperscale Data Centre builds.

    The Package
£90,000-£110,000 + package, depending on experience
    Permanent position
    Predominantly site-based across London & the M25
Central London office, attendance as required
Private healthcare for you and your dependants
    Private dental insurance
    Life insurance
    Pension
    Length of service rewards
TradePoint discount scheme This is a senior, client-facing position with an established mechanical business and a strong portfolio of Data Centre clients, offering the opportunity to take genuine ownership of multiple projects and play a key role within the delivery team.
