How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    September Start in St Helens | Begin the New Term as a Tutor

    Spencer Clarke Group is recruiting Tutors across St Helens and surrounding areas to provide personalised 1:1 education support to children and young people.
    With the new academic year underway, we're looking for education professionals who want to take on a rewarding tutoring role supporting pupils who may be unable to access mainstream education.

    Your New Role Could Include

    You'll deliver engaging, individualised sessions covering areas such as:

    Maths & English
    Primary and Secondary tuition
    GCSE intervention
    Functional Skills
    Literacy and numeracy catch-up
    SEN & SEND support
    SEMH intervention
    Re-engagement with education
    Sessions are delivered 1:1 in pupils' homes, libraries and community settings, allowing you to provide a more personalised approach to learning.

    You may work with young people who have:

    SEN or SEND needs
    EHCPs
    Autism or ADHD
    SEMH needs
    Anxiety or school avoidance
    Gaps in education or low engagement

    All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

    Spencer Clarke Group work with a variety of schools covering a wide geographical area. We deal with teaching placements at Primary, Secondary, Special Education needs and college level as well as support staff positions also within these.
