How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    A growing and highly successful firm based in Exeter is searching for a Personal Tax Manager to join their team as a key addition. You manage clients and the team, whilst also being hands on, leading on the delivery on complex cases and ensuring a quality compliance service, with an additional significant focus on delivering of wide ranging tax planning and project work.

    Based in Exeter the firm has an excellent reputation acting for both UK based individuals and overseas. The team undertakes high end income and capital tax planning work and compliance for HNWI, internationally mobile individuals and Trusts. You will work closely with the heads of taxes, on a broad range of income tax, IHT and CGT projects and compliance work, often involving residence and remittance basis queries to UK expats worldwide. Whilst a quality compliance service is a key offering the firm has also has a focus on delivering wider advisory and tax planning and business advice and the right professional will carve a key position advising this firms wide ranging clients with progression and development on offer. The firm offers hybrid working, flexible hours and very competitive benefits.

    Joining as Personal Tax Manager, based from the firms Exeter offices, you will manage a wide ranging portfolio of personal tax cases across HNWI's both UK based and overseas. You will work broad range of income tax, IHT and CGT projects and compliance work. You will be advising on wide ranging tax planning project work. The role provides an ideal opportunity for the right tax professional looking to carve a pivotal role and an excellent opportunity for the right professional looking to further their career in private client tax.

    Profile

    You will be either CTA qualified or studying and/or, any of: ATT, ACA. ACCA etc qualified and you will have developed a personal tax career within accountancy practice, or within a specialist tax firm to the Personal Tax Manager levels. Your experience will have been developed in any mix of Top Tier, Top Ten, 50, or regional independent firm background of any size, or specialist tax firm and your background will most likely have focused down the personal tax route with a compliance and tax planning skill set alongside this.
