How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Urenco is a global leader in the production of low carbon energy. We work at the cutting edge of the transition to a sustainable, net zero world.

We are seeking a Project Quality Manager (Major Projects) to join our Capenhurst/Birchwood site. In this role, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of quality across major projects. You will lead and develop a team of quality professionals, driving quality assurance and quality control activities while promoting a culture of continuous improvement, compliance, and operational excellence.

Working closely with project teams, suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders across multiple sites, you will ensure project activities are delivered in accordance with quality requirements, industry standards, and regulatory obligations. You will also support the development and implementation of quality management processes that strengthen compliance and project performance.

At Urenco, we're committed to helping you be your best. If you feel you meet some, but not all, of what we're looking for, we still encourage you to apply. We believe in embracing the passion and potential of our people and offer market-leading training, development, coaching, and mentoring opportunities from some of the brightest minds in the industry.

    What You'll Do

    Lead Quality Assurance & Compliance

Lead quality assurance and quality control activities across multiple projects.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Support Licence Condition compliance audits and corrective action activities where applicable.
Promote quality and safety awareness across projects, fostering a "Right First Time" culture.
    Lead & Develop the Team

Lead, coach, and develop a team of Quality Engineers and Quality Control Inspectors.
Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure effective team performance.
Create a collaborative and positive working environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
Report on team performance and project quality activities to senior stakeholders.
    Drive Quality Performance

Implement quality metrics, KPIs, and dashboards to monitor project performance and compliance.
Review requirements, specifications, and technical documentation, providing quality-focused feedback and recommendations.
Review supplier and contractor documentation to ensure compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality performance.
    Support Quality Management Systems

Contribute to the development and enhancement of the UTD Quality Framework.
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Integrated Quality Management System procedures, instructions, and processes.
Promote the consistent application of quality standards and best practices across projects and functions.
What Do You Need to Thrive in This Role?

    Qualifications

Technical background in electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, systems, or a related discipline.
Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Internal or Lead Auditor qualification (IRCA/CQI) desirable.
    Experience

Experience leading quality programmes within technical, engineering, or nuclear environments.
Proven experience managing and developing teams of Quality Engineers and Inspectors.
Experience working with Quality and Inspection Plans, certification processes, and regulated industry standards.
    Technical & Leadership Capability

Strong understanding of quality assurance, quality control, and quality management systems.
Knowledge of ISO, ASTM, DIN, BSI, and related industry standards.
Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to drive compliance, performance improvement, and a quality-focused culture.
    Behavioural Attributes

    Collaborative and inclusive leadership style.
Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
    Results-focused, accountable, and safety conscious.
Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
What Can You Expect From Us?

More than just a job, we offer a future. More than just a place to work, we provide an opportunity to prosper.

As a valued member of our team, you will receive:

Generous Annual Leave: Starting at 25 days, increasing by one day every two years (up to 30 days), plus 13 additional flexible days. Option to buy or sell up to 5 holiday days.
