We are seeking a dedicated KS4 English Teacher who values clarity, structure and targeted support to help students achieve success in their GCSEs.
You will engage with students who benefit from firm guidance, consistent routines, and teaching that effectively removes barriers to learning.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging GCSE English Language and Literature lessons
Develop students’ reading, writing and analytical skills
Support students with essay structure, comprehension and examination techniques
Provide constructive, actionable feedback to promote continuous improvement
Monitor student progress and implement targeted interventions where necessary
Person Specification
Experience teaching KS4 English or equivalent
Calm, organised and structured teaching style
Strong command of literacy and language skills
High expectations balanced with approachability and empathy
Who We Are Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable; however, applications from unqualified teachers or those with relevant educational experience are welcome
Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting
Ability to build positive, respectful relationships with students, colleagues and parents, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment
Confidence in collaborating within a team and contributing to the broader cultural and creative life of the school
Flexibility and creativity in adapting teaching methods, activities and assessments to meet diverse learning needs and abilities
