How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Smile Education are currently recruiting for a Humanities Teacher to join a secondary school in Telford.

    Duties and Responsibilities
    Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging and purposeful Humanities lessons.
    Teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach at Key Stage 5 where required.
    Creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity, debate and independent thinking.
    Supporting students to develop strong analytical, critical-thinking and communication skills.
    Differentiating and adapting lessons to meet the needs of pupils with SEND and other additional needs.
    Assessing, marking and providing constructive feedback to support student progress.
    Preparing students effectively for GCSE examinations and supporting strong academic outcomes.
    Developing students’ understanding of historical, geographical, social and cultural issues.
    Working collaboratively within the Humanities department to contribute to the continued success of the faculty.
    Supporting the wider development of students through positive relationships, high expectations and effective classroom management.
    Encouraging students to take pride in their learning and develop the confidence and skills needed for their future education and careers.The School Are Looking For
    Humanities ECTs or fully qualified Humanities Teachers.
    Experience teaching Humanities within UK secondary school classrooms.
    Strong knowledge of the relevant Humanities curriculum.
    Experience teaching GCSE Humanities subjects, such as History, Geography or Religious Studies.
    A genuine passion for Humanities and the ability to inspire curiosity and a love of learning.
    A calm, professional and engaging classroom presence.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Strong classroom management and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
    Flexibility, reliability and a genuine commitment to supporting student progress.
