How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Prepare load assessments, cable-sizing calculations, protection studies, discrimination studies and equipment schedules.

    * Ensure designs comply with clients requirements, AMP8 delivery standards, CDM Regulations and applicable British and international standards.

    * Prepare electrical design information and supporting evidence for CAF submissions and governance reviews.

    * Contribute to option selection, whole-life cost assessments, risk evaluations and technical recommendations.

    * Work closely with civil, mechanical, process, ICA, operations, environmental and construction teams.

    * Attend site surveys, design reviews, HAZOP studies, constructability reviews and commissioning meetings.

    * Identify design risks, assumptions, constraints, interfaces and opportunities at an early stage.

    * Incorporate safety, maintainability, energy efficiency, carbon reduction and operational resilience into every design.

    * Respond to technical queries and support procurement, installation, testing and commissioning activities.

    * Maintain accurate design records and ensure documentation is produced, reviewed and approved in accordance with project procedures.

    * Support the preparation of as-built information, operating documentation and handover packages.

    Required Skills

    * Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering.

    * Proven electrical design experience within the water, wastewater or another regulated process industry.

    * Experience of delivering designs through feasibility, outline and detailed design stages.

    * Good knowledge of LV power distribution, motor control, protection, earthing and electrical safety.

    * Working knowledge of BS 7671 and other relevant electrical engineering standards.

    * Understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.

    * Ability to produce clear calculations, specifications, drawings, technical reports and design decision records.

    * Experience working within structured technical assurance and document-control processes.

    * Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with designers, contractors, suppliers and operational stakeholders.
