How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Teaching Assistant

    Location: Blackley, Manchester
    Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
    Contract: Full-time, long-term
    Start Date: Sasap
    Pay: £110 per day

    Are you passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and helping them reach their full potential?

    We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join an SEN Secondary School in Blackley, supporting pupils across the school and providing tailored support to those with additional learning and behavioural needs.

    The Role

    As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and the school's SEN team to provide effective support both in and out of the classroom. You may be supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or within small groups, helping them access learning and develop their confidence, independence and social skills.

    Key Responsibilities

    Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN
    Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication and learning needs
    Helping pupils to regulate emotions and manage behaviour positively
    Supporting pupils to engage with classroom activities and learning
    Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
    Working closely with teachers, the SENCO and wider support staff
    Adapting support to meet individual pupils' needs
    Promoting independence, confidence and positive behaviour

    About You

    The successful candidate will ideally have:

    Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
    Experience within an SEN school, specialist provision, PRU or similar setting.
    A patient, caring and resilient approach.
    Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
    The ability to build positive relationships with challenging or vulnerable pupils.
    A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed.
