How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Role
    As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and delivering high-performance, large-scale software solutions that power Mastercard's Decision Enrichments platform.
    Responsibilities

    Design and deliver innovative Java-based capabilities for Mastercard's Decision Enrichments platform.
    Build highly scalable, resilient, secure, and performant distributed systems.
    Collaborate within Agile teams to develop and deliver business-critical capabilities.
    Partner closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Technical Leads, and fellow Engineers to define and deliver solutions.
    Work closely with Quality Engineering teams to ensure high-quality releases.
    Contribute to architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational excellence.
    Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root-cause resolution.
    Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to platform capabilities.
    Drive engineering best practices, automation, and continuous improvement.
    Produce technical designs and documentation aligned with Mastercard engineering standards.
    Use AI-assisted engineering practices within Mastercard guidelines to maximise productivity and quality throughout the SDLC.

    What We're Looking For Technical Skills

    Strong software engineering expertise using Java (JDK 17+).
    Experience building applications using Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
    Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
    Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, resilience, and fault tolerance.
    Experience working with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms.
    Knowledge of multithreading, concurrency, and high-performance application design.
    Experience with relational databases and data-intensive applications.
    Familiarity with cloud-native application development, containerisation, and modern deployment platforms.
    Strong understanding of security, observability, monitoring, and operational excellence.
    Experience with automated testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
    Understanding of software design patterns and clean architecture principles.
    Experience using source control and collaborating in multi-developer environments.
    Familiarity with Business Rules Management Systems or decisioning platforms is advantageous.
    Experience leveraging AI tools and capabilities throughout the software development lifecycle.
